The Beach

An exciting new venue for dining, entertainment and activities has recently opened up in JBR, called The Beach.  Stretching along the coastline between Hilton and Sheraton Hotels what used to be an unexciting car park and a simple beach with no facilities has been transformed into something new and exciting for residents and tourists alike.

With a contemporary, modern, industrial and yet seaside feel The Beach is new, innovative and exciting and once you step across the road from the familiar JBR Walk your senses are assaulted with a range of new experiences dotted along 1.7km of prime beachfront on the Arabian coastline.

The Beach has over seventy outlets with over twenty restaurants and cafes many with great views of either the beach or the European themed internal walkways with tranquil water features, which link the four main buildings of The Beach together.

The restaurants have plenty of both indoor and outdoor spaces and shaded terraces for diners to enjoy a range of dining experiences from morning through to late night.

New restaurants include, Eat Greek, a new independent Greek restaurant, which is receiving great reviews; Operation Falafel newly launched in Dubai serving up their version of street food, think Falafel and Shawarma plus other Arabic treats; plus new imports from the States including Menchie's famous for their ice-cream and frozen yogurts and The Counter offering numerous ways in which to custom make your own burger. Dubai regulars such as Shake Shack and  PappaRoti can also be found at The Beach as well as some of our downtown favourites including Aprons & Hammers and Sushi Art who opened recently in DIFC and are getting some good reviews. For great coffee try Leopold's of London who use a variety of gadgets and methods to make both hot and cold coffee.

We’re excited to see that Big Chefs from Turkey (think Turkish with a twist) are due to open soon as are Real Madrid Café, Fournil de Pierre, Le Paradis Du Fruit and Obika

For a full listing of the restaurants, and current reviews please see here.

Whilst The Beach could be a dining destination alone, with plenty of choices for most palates and budgets, there is so much more to do at this new venue,

Visitors to the beach can of course continue to enjoy full beach access for free, or can choose to hire sun loungers and towels etc from The Beach Club.  For the adventurous a new facility, the Water Park is an inflatable adventure park anchored in the waters just off the beach which looks fun.  Water enthusiasts can also hire kayaks and other water related equipment on the beach.

Sporty types can enjoy the outdoor exercise equipment and short sprung running track and on weekends Adventure HQ will be on hand with their outdoor climbing wall and other activities.

For the under twelve’s there is a shaded children’s Splash Area where kids are supervised by staff on a range of children’s fun beach meets playground activities.

New to Dubai is the first ever Outdoor Cinema Lounge complete with sofas on the sand offering movie goers the opportunity to enjoy shisha, snacks and drinks as they watch a movie or premiership football on a huge outdoor screen.  Whilst for a more traditional experience, Reel Cinemas offer their usual movie options.

Dotted along the beach are a few kiosks offering snacks and drinks whilst on the terrace the hive like structures hide showers and changing room facilities for beach goers (charges apply).

Sand Sculpture

Culture & Arts: There are currently four sand sculptures which are lit up at night.  The main sculpture depicts the Dubai skyline with prominent landmark buildings (Burj Khalifa, Emirates Towers, Burj Al Arab to name a few) whilst the three smaller stuctures feature animals in whimsical poses – hippos in bikinis, camels boardsailing, horses taking photographs and a sheep fishing from a boat.  We also spotted a small outdoor amphitheater so expect some form of entertainment to take place on The Beach soon.

Shopping: The Beach also boasts a second Adventure HQ store, a large Mothercare shop, Victoria’s Secret and a gift shop and small supermarket as well as a few other stores, with more to open soon.

Location: From JBR Walk turn  right just after The Hilton Hotel where you can park underground or use valet parking (paid parking)Fees apply to The Water Park, The Beach Park and The Splash Park and OutDoor Cinema Lounge depending on the services you use.

Wifi: We’re pleased to see Free Wifi is available just connect to THE BEACH Wifi
