Let's be honest: we all love a good Italian fare. Whether that involves indulging in a creamy, al dente pasta infused with fresh herbs, or it's tucking into a wholesome, steaming hot, cheesy pizza. Everyone enjoys the decadent, delicate and delicious Mediterranean flavours that this increasingly popular cuisine has to offer. So it's no wonder that this city has spoiled us for choice when it comes to excellent Italian food. Nevertheless, here is our narrowed down guide to the 10 best Italian restaurants in Dubai. Buon Appetito!

FratelliFratelli La Bufala

If you are at The Beach on JBR, it’s hard to miss Fratelli La Bufala. Aside from the beautiful coastal views, this eatery also offers sumptuous, hearty dishes. With most of their produce imported from Italy on a weekly basis, one can really taste the distinct authenticity in their food.

Be sure to try their pizza (our favorite is the Margherita) and we can't say enough about their Spaghetti Vongole.

If you love live music accompanied by good Italian food, then Fankie's is a must! Whether it’s a romantic dance for two or an upbeat song for a party of 10, the singer at this restobar will not fail to offer you a night to remember.

Book a table in the lounge area next to the piano so you can enjoy the music alongside some rustic grub - that is, if you don’t mind the smoke. Finish off with a delectable tiramisu and you will not be disappointed.

Location: JBR
Price per person: AED 200
Ideal for: Romantic dinner with live music; Large groups.

VignaLa Vigna

One of our favorite old-school restaurants in Dubai! Book an outdoors table in the cooler months and enjoy the breeze and buzzing crowd. This restaurant offers delicious oven-baked pizzas as well as some incredible appetisers. The whole experience is great value for money.

Go for an early dinner and stroll around the Aviation Club afterwards… and maybe make a pit-stop at the Irish Village.

Spending the day at The Dubai Mall? Take a break and have late lunch at Eataly. Serving a wide range of pastas and pizza, this café also caters to your sweet tooth, with a gelato stand and a Nutella bar. While you’re at it, pick up your favorite wheel of cheese or a packet of pasta to cook at home.

Ideal for: In-mall; Family, Large groups.

Another in-mall favourite. This fresh live-counter concept restaurant is ideal for a quick bite with a view. Grab a table in the terrace facing the fountains in the cooler months and enjoy the explosive flavours that Vapiano has to offer. Try the strawberry chicken salad for starters and the deliciously unusual Tacchino Piccante pasta for mains.

Location: The Dubai Mall
Price per person: AED 80
Ideal for: In-mall; Lunch; Quick bite.

With a vibe similar to La Petite Maison, Roberto’s is where the pretty people come to play (and eat). Located in the DIFC, it’s a great spot to have drunch in with your coworkers, or catch up with friends over a drink or two in the lounge area. Alternatively, you can make plans to wine and dine your significant other on a Friday evening.

Make sure you reserve a few days in advance as they tend to get booked up quickly, especially on weekends.

Location: DIFC
Price per person: AED 300
Ideal for: Fine dining; Night out.

JamiesJamie's Italian

This fuss-free eatery is the real deal. Mouth-watering, quality food; friendly service; and a relaxed decor makes this one of our favourite casual Italian restaurants in town. Head over for a lunch date or make a booking for a friend's birthday. Be sure to try their mushroom rissotto and their ricotta cheesecake... heavenly!

Location: Festival City, Garhoud
Price per person: AED 120
Ideal for: Lunch; Romantic; Family.

This luxurious night-spot should be saved for those special occasions with your loved ones. BiCE Mare is fancy without coming off as ostentatious: helpful staff will guide you to an excellent selection of seafood and pasta dishes, and wines to accompany.

We fell in love with their lobster ravioli and their classic pappardelle. If you want to make an impression with your date then be sure to book a fountain-facing table.

Location: Souk Al Bahar, Downtown.
Price per person: AED 350
Ideal for: Romantic; Outdoor dining.

Head over to Oregano if you are in the mood for comforting, hearty food in a homey trattoria. The service is prompt and attentive, the decor is a sight for sore eyes, and the pasta and pizza dishes are fresh and flavoursome.

Try the bruschetta if you are in the mood for something light, or go for the kill with a spicy, filling Pompeii pizza. Do not miss out on dessert: the scrumptuous tiramisu was our personal favourite.

Location: Silicon Oasis
Price per person: AED 80
Ideal for: Casual business lunch; Family, large groups.

Innovative, classy and minimalistic, Armani/Ristorante is the one restaurant every Italian food lover must try. The prices match the extravagant atmosphere, the views are second-to-none, and the food is fine exuberance.

If you are feeling a little experimental, go for their degustation menu. Alternatively, you can go for your favourite dishes; we can guarantee you will be in awe of Armani nevertheless.

Location: Armani Hotel, Downtown Boulevard.
Price per person: AED 400
Ideal for: Romantic; Fine, private dining; Outdoors.
