Our experience at Al Nafoura seafood was not a mere disaster but a big disappointment. To begin with, a couple of our picks off the menu were unavailable. Dishes were overpriced and the flavours were simply bland. The grilled shrimp dish was almost 50 riyals with about 7 shrimps at the most and had no flavour at all (seemed unsalted). Fish in curry sauce was decent but lacked flavour again. The portions were pretty small and not worthy of the prices.
The platters were priced over 130 riyals but had no mix of seafood, we were advised by the waiters to order single dishes. The platters did not include appetizers, rice/bread or drinks. We as Asians did look for some deep flavours although we knew Arab cuisine wouldn't provied too much heat or spice. Our anticipation to indulge in a wide variety of seafood with different flavours was not fulfilled at the least.
Customer service was decent and the ambience was the only positives.
