Living since three years in Dubai and probably the best restaurant I visited. Price quality ratio very good. Excellent Service, fantastic atmosphere and scenery.

I ate at Al Diwaan recently with my wife. We made the trip out from our hotel in Jumeirah on the recommendation of a friend who lives in Dubai who said the views are superb. Unfortunately by the time we arrived it was dark. That’s because Google maps takes you the wrong way and out uber driver got a bit lost. It’s many miles off road (even going the right way) so you’ll need an SUV (not an uber!). Security is very tight and at one point we thought we may be shot or something as the gate guard to the service entrance interrogated us. Once there, it was very pleasant. The food was nice, though not amazing and the service was great (though you become somewhat used to that in Dubai). The menu is a fixed price (about GBP100 a head) so with a couple of drinks and travel there and back (about GBP50 each way) you’re not looking at much change out of GBP400 for dinner for two. With amazing views over the dunes and seeing the wildlife it may be worth that. But you can’t see anything in the dead of night (dinner service starts well after sunset at this time of year). And it takes a fair while (minimum one hour - even going the right way) to get there and back. So all in all, whilst it was very pleasant, I am not sure I would rush back.

I was fortunate enough to visit Al Maha Resort as part of an Emirates NBD promotion, and was treated to a three course meal in Al Diwaan, and I can honestly say it was one of the best meals I have eaten in the UAE.
From start to finish the skill of the front and back of house is apparent, the service is carefully orchestrated, fine dining all the way, nothing goes amiss and everything happens like it has been perfectly rehearsed.
The menu is extensive, but not so extensive to concern you that the kitchen are trying to be all things to all people. I choose the Burrata to start and it was amazing- so fresh. The plate had fresh pesto, flowers and herbs alongside a really tasty and delicate crisped bread which was amazing with the texture of the Burrata.
For main I had the Fillet Steak which truth be told was a little over what I had asked for but was really soft and enjoyable that it didn't at all matter. Desert was a Fruit Crème brûlée and Mint tea to finish.
I dined during the daytime, but the view from the terrace is stunning and I'd love to come back for sunset.
If you've not been to Al Maha Resort its quite a drive from central Dubai, but for a romantic occasion its worth the effort.

The staff and the quality of the food is excellent. If you ask for something off menu they will see if they can cook it for you.
