We have visited Junsui several times in the past as a luxury experience with great food and service, the last time being 3 years ago. Visiting as a party of 5 this time, we struggled to get into the hotel due to Coach loads of Chinese Tourists arriving, then eventually got through them to the top of the escalators, ducking under photos all the way. The lobby, mezzanine and all of the restaurants we could see were packed with Chinese tourists ( the fact that they are Chinese isn’t itself a problem - I live in Hong Kong - the fact is they just are all Chinese). Entering Junsui we were shown to our table, again the only westerners, and no window tables available. We were introduced to our server and I as a vegetarian was introduced to a Chef who showed me the offerings and tailored a menu for me expertly and excellently. The food was very good, not as extensive an offering as previously though, and once we’d got through the crowds of loud photographing Chinese guests to the food and back to our table, enjoyed it very much. Then whilst eating I was approached by one of the hostesses who asked me loudly whether I knew how much the meal cost, and reminded me it was 520dhs per person. Why she decided to do this I have no idea, I suspect that the Chinese tour groups are all prepaid and therefore don’t know or care about the cost, but I found it embarrassing and almost humiliating. And I wasn’t even the one paying the bill which made it even worse. Our main Server was also clearly unused to Western guests, being confused with orders, taking drinks away before they were finished and being unable to interact with us appropriately. Other servers however were excellent and perfect hosts. We had a nice birthday cake delivered for one of our party which was a nice touch and we left without much of an acknowledgement and a few minor nods. Having of course settled the bill. Those of us who had visited before commented how much less classy it was this time. So, that’s our last visit there. The Burj and Junsui seem to have set their stall out for Chinese tour parties now, which is probably a smart move, they will certainly get the large. numbers of pre paying guests. But anyone else, be aware you will be treated as second class, and maybe even checked for your ability to pay before you eat.. We were considering a stay there in future, but not now.

Well it’s all about the food! And everything here is in perfect order. Service, food, and so on is in a class of its own. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that enjoys a good Asian meal, it is mostly Chinese and Japanese food. This was my fifth time here and I wouldn’t go to Dubai whiteout going here, that said. Not much changes here. My rating of five out of five is regarding the food present and the service. The waiters will help you to get dishes and cater for you in every way. The service was as I said excellent, there was a short period of service dropping during my stay ( I ate for 150mins) but it got up to standard again at the end of my meal. What could be better? Well some things... firstly there could be a wider selection of Asian teas. There could be some other dishes, I know that they offer a wide range of dishes but there is always the possibility for some changes. There was no lobster starter on the cold dishes this year. I am now being extremely picky... well you should be regarding this should be the most luxurious hotel in the world. You can’t get disappointed eating here! So until next time. Take care!

Very good service, but food not so good and very expensive. The japanese and chinese food are very disappointing. The indonesian food is really amazing.

The buffet was great, don´t get me wrong, but when you are going to the Asian buffet at one of the best hotels in the world, you expect something extraordinary, not just a great buffet. The service was really good, our waitress Benne did an excellent job making sure we had the best service. I recommend going, as if you are in Dubai, you have to go see the Burj al Arab and if you are not staying there you need to go to a restaurant, expect a great service, a really good buffet, but nothing out of the extraordinary (in the buffet).

Had friends that were visiting from England and Burj am arab is always on the check list for people wanting to visit Dubai. We all love sushi so Junsui was the perfect choice. We booked a table at lunch at from the start of our experience to the end we were more than happy. They made suggestion of specialities that we normally wouldn't have tried and were very happy that we were open to their recommendations. Please leave room for desert! Even at the end when we wanted to visit the top floor for picture opportunities they were more than helpful and arranged it for us. Can't say enough how helpful the staff were and how special they made us feel.
