OKKU Restaurant

Great food, chilled, funky ambiance. Family friendly and the service was good and friendly. Would visit again ....

We were looking forward to eat st Okku. Due to bad traffic we were 30 minutes late but we called to let them knie. Theyvtold us that our reservation was at 19.30 while we had a confermation for 20 hours. When we arrived after 1.5 hou drive they put us in the bar eare with loud music, when we asked for a table they told us that we did not book that with Roundmenu. There were some tables free but we could not sit there so we left without eating. We will never go to Okku again, the service was very bad and the staff was very rude.

We had dinner last Thursday, and it was the best. Excellent service, excellent food and amazing ambiance. ... The staff are fantastic, and awesome. For sure I will recommend it to my friends and to others. Keep it up

I've been in that amazing restaurant for many times , every time I went there I feel like I'm at home the service was wonderful and the staff were very friendly and proud to work there ! I love the food and the tast of it . Last but not least I would like to thank one staff there because of his incredible and lovely service and behavior. that restaurant become my favorite one ! Thank you mr, leo Siasat you are the best keep it up man...

What amazing food and evening!

I have been to Okku a number of times, but thks tine wss a dispointment. Our waiter was condescending, did not listen carefully to what we said during ordering. We ended uo waiting a very long time for one of the dishes which had been forgotten, and equally long for the bill. Get your act together please.

Having been to Okku several times for dinner including the Round Menu offer last year, I was really looking forward to it knowing what to expect. Sadly, it was a real let down. We rang ahead of time to warn the reception we were stuck in bad traffic (which I later discovered was for the Guns and Roses concert and affected a great many people that night). The lady at the desk's opening gambit was that we had to be out of our table by 21.30 and was swiftly followed by her putting the phone down whilst my husband was still talking to her (mildly irritating?). We arrived 40 minutes late and again the essence of the conversation was that we didn't have much time as our table was rebooked for 21.30 and that as we were late the table wasn't really available anyway and hadn't we read the small print.. (insert interesting tone..) My husband was really unimpressed with this especially as Dubai’s been home for quite a few years and dine out regularly plus we had two out of town guests with us in their late 60's. Eventually after pointing out that this 'welcome' was actually quite the opposite and that we had 80 minutes of our time remaining (hopefully the other guests received a more hospitable welcome - particularly the full paying ones) we were then offered a table upstairs with no pressure to be out by the allotted time (so we could determine that by being able to accommodate us regardless it was more said for effect than substance?) The food was good (not as amazing as it has been in the past) but the disappointing part was the speed at which it came to the table, which was more akin to a Yo Sushi conveyor belt. The portion size was also slightly unsatisfying (and no we're not complete gannets) particularly the tuna which whilst tasted ok would be more congruous on my 6 year olds plate! We did note however there was an abundance of the delicious edamame - possibly due to the price point??!!. Plus we also benefitted from an extra scoop of ice-cream so we had one each which our helpful waiter informed us of. A treat for us - it was delicious so very much appreciated. Oh and the chocolate dessert was absolutely sensational. Given that the rush was over meaning we didn’t need to vacate our spot we ordered an additional bottle of wine so lingered more than we would have done and we still managed to be out by just before 10pm. Had we not enjoyed the second bottle then I reckon we could have nailed a 21.30 finish. Taking advantage of Roundmenu enables guests the affordable opportunity to sample somewhere they may not have thought to try before. Or in our case to revisit a favourite for a very reasonable price - unless of course the experience is underwhelming, in which case it becomes more of a disappointing memory. I actually went to 3 different restaurants during the open dates (Scape - which was amazing and Marina Social - which was excellent too). Such a shame that Okku fell short for us this time.. I’ll be sure to try something different next.

Food was unexceptional. Sounded better than it tasted.
