At Vanilla beans we believe that cakes are like haute couture; every cake has to be unique and reflects the personality of the person and occasion it is made for. Our cakes, cup cakes, and desserts are made-to-order (sur commande).

We admire using art and baking together to produce our edible pieces of art. In pursuit of excellence, our in-house bakers use only top notch quality of baking ingredients like: French vanilla beans, Vahlrona chocolate from France, Callebaut chocolate from Belgium as well as other baking supplies from the United States. In addition, all our desserts are baked on a daily basis from scratch to ensure freshness, which is one of our main concerns. We have very well experienced staff and trained chefs who are always eager to start new challenging projects.

Since the owner was 13 years old, Reem has been obsessed with baking and cooking. She was also interested in stained glass art that was a hobby of hers for a long time. In 1998 she finished her Masters in Business Administration at the AUC. She worked for some time as a financial analyst at KPMG Hazem Hassan Public Accountants and Consultants in Cairo. However, all along her first love was baking. So she finally decided to pursue her dreams and traveled to the US in 2009 to study Baking and Cake Decorating with Toba Garrette, one of America's foremost artists and educators in the field of cake decorating and design.

Reem received direct private instruction from Toba in New York and then went back to Cairo to put all her passion, education and training together in one project that is Vanilla Beans Bakery.
