About Mandarine Koueider - El Korba

With over 90 years of distinguished quality and perfection, the Koueider family began an area in old Damascus called al Midan square. Mohamed Selim Koueider had an idea to create a new kind of oriental sweets and pastries. In 1926, he took his dream to Egypt. Only two years later, this dream became a reality when Mohamed Selim Koueider opened his first shop in down town Cairo. It wasn't long before this unique idea flourished into the world-renowned Koueider sweets. The tradition was passed on to Mohamed Selim’s son, Rashid Koueider, when in 1985, he opened branches in Heliopolis, Zamalek and Maadi called Mandarine Koueider. Today, Mohamed Koueider’s grandsons, Khaled and Omar Koueider, uphold this famous family tradition and carry on the family's extraordinary legacy of culinary expertise, while maintaining the excellence and fineness of their sweets. After decades of proving to be the most innovative leaders in the fine art of oriental pastry making.
