PatriciaReview on Aug 24, 20141We hadn't been for many years (my husbands and my first date had been in pregos) so we decided to go here, instead of going to the famous Italian Restaurant Roberto and it was so disappointing that we maid a wrong choice, The restaurant was too loud with the music. The service staff and the 3 to 4 people in a Blazers acting as a Manager is more concerned to take care of some VIP tables, as if we are not a guest or we came to dine free. Two of our first wine choices were out of stock! To make things worse, one of the staff was rude and lied to us about whether the manager was there...overall a big let down.Recommended Dishes:Chilean Sea Bass,Reply
Mr. ZuharReview on Jul 22, 20142What happen to the service of this restaurant? Food was awesome, but the quality of service is really sucks. Please do something. Only person who had a warm smile is the hostess. The rest as if they like a zombie walking around the restaurant. Reply

MorganReview on Jul 12, 20141Dinner was very bad, a very bad experience 1 time from almost 4 years of my life in prego restaurant. I still remember a guy who was serving my group and me very professional. I am not sure whether he was manager or a supervisor. but he was the best professional person i have seen in my life. If i am not wrong his name is Rokesh. I will be never coming back and even my company group i will tell them not to dine there. it seems a disaster with a new faces.Reply

"Not worth it - Skip"Reviewed 2014-08-26 13:35:28 By CaptainRolio
I dont understand this place. first ill start off with the price. 2 pizzas, 2 glasses of wine, 2 beers and a small stuffed zucchini starter for $140. zucchini starter was priced at over $30. below average in every away. ridiculous. browsing through the mains, i saw pasta dishes for aed 150 each, approximately $41. the best italian restaurants in new york don't even dare charge that much. its laughable. whats even worse, the food is just average, not even close to being called good italian in dubai. came here once before for basic tiramisu - again, lower than average. as for the pizza. ordered quatro stagioni and another pizza with porcini and truffle oil ($25 each). the toppings on the first tasted canned and gross. second pizza was overpowered by the truffle oil. no offense but you can tell if a restaurant is authentic if you see patrons of the native country there. there were none. skip this place. try rhonda locatelli at atlantis for the same price point and much better food or cafe italiano in media city for half the price and 4x the taste and authenticity. this restaurant is riding off the prices charged at dubai hotels.
"Fantastic!"Reviewed 2014-08-23 08:33:22 By shueshue
I just love Italian food and I've been to quite a few Italian restaurants. This one however tops most of them. The food is fresh and they serve everything from Pizza & Pasta to 5* cuisine. We tried the home made pastas, the fried stuffed zucchini, the pizzas, soup, the meat starters. Everything was lovely and served with a smile. The staff is attentive and even remembered the kind of wine I'd had the day before although the place had been packed! Definitely go here if you're craving for some authentic Italian cuisine.
"Serving up Italian dishes to please you."Reviewed 2014-07-31 11:58:13 By Bstoltenkamp
Prego's is a casual but elegant Italian restaurant that serves up all the Italian classics. I kicked off my evening with a Cava Cordon Negro Freixenet, Penedes. Crisp and refreshing, a nice escape from the heat. Prego's boasts an impressive choice of antipasti and starters, but it was not a tough choice for me as I saw the cold cuts on display - a choice from about 14-15. I ordered three : Spianata Calabrese, Speck and Prosciutto crudo di Parma. Prego's is one of few places restaurants I have seen in the UAE with a coldcut display. I also ordered the burrrata, so Chef made me a platter of all of these. When your ham is so fresh, it is bound to be delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed, as I did the burrata. I thought the choice of lettuce leaves to hold the burrata was a bit disappointing. I pictured some rucola and a bit of olive oil and balsamic somewhere. Nonetheless, I finished it. Delicious. For my main I had the grilled beef tenderloin and porcini mushrooms with red wine and juniper berries reduction, potatoes and crispy pancetta. The beef was beautifully cooked, having a rich pink colour, reflecting the temperature I had requested. I did not have much of the pancetta as I felt it was a bit of a distraction. I loved the reduction. It brought a sweet tang to the beef. Very good. My accompanying wine, a Marques de Casa Concha Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile, did not disappoint - rich and full bodied as you would expect a Cabernet to be. The service was excellent. The waiters and waitresses were able to engage without distracting guests with irritating questions. They anticipated very well the needs of guests. A pleasure. A fabulous evening. An overview of the prices - Starters and soups 55-103 Dhs Pizzas 75-99 Dhs Pasta 90-115 Dhs Other main dishes 120-230 Dhs Dessert including gelato 12-60 Dhs
"Quick lunch"Reviewed 2014-07-19 11:41:21 By JeLundgren
Went here to have a quick lunch with my wife and her sister and as usual, Prego's delivered the standard we expected. Having been several times to Prego's in Abu Dhabi, the one in Media Rotana did not let us down and we will definitely be back.
"3 star hotel, 3 star result"Reviewed 2014-06-19 13:26:23 By SBXT
Having had several meals at Prego's, I thought I'd give my opinion. On the positive side, the food is good and the price is competitive. On the negative side, the hotel is prostituting the restaurant to make up for management's mistakes. What am I talking about here? They have cut staff too much to save on cost that if an extra couple of tables show up for lunch, the poor staff, through no fault of their own, cannot provide the service you would expect. Personally, I would suggest the Certo's at the Radisson Blu, same type of restaurant at an equivalent hotel which is 5 minutes away. The food is as good, if not better. Most importantly the service is much, much better, due to better management and oversight. Z.

Really good quality Italian food, and lovely atmosphere, they always have a new specials menu that's worth trying. Been a few times and I'll come back again.
