  • "Great ambience, good food & a great place to entertain"

    4 Reviewed 2014-03-08 01:41:58 By Vikas S

Located in one of the refurbished old Qatari villa kind of a house, with a small outside sitting area both on porch and lawn, the place has been done up with some choice without being too overburdening and creates a nice relaxing ambience to enjoy the food and company that you may have. Menu offers traditional north Indian flavors intermixed with some regional cuisine as well. There are some healthy choices as well and quite a choice of fresh juices & mocktails. Food served is quite balanced without being over spiced bringing out the flavors well. Selection of breads is also quite varied and you may even ask them for something which is not on the menu. Most of the dishes are quite well prepared though may not be to die for! Worth a mention is the selection of chutneys/pickles they serve on the house along with many kind of papadams while you wait for the food. Otherwise good kebabs, curries and stir-fries. Service is top notch with most servers besides being attentive, are willing to engage with the patrons on the food as well as other matters of interest. Oh yes, I talked about entertaining too. The place has multiple private dining rooms (having been converted from a real house) done up in minimal but choiceful manner, giving one the privacy which you look for in a private party. The only complaint I have is that I would like to see more frequent change in menu given the fact that the place belongs to someone who is rated as one of leading chefs in India who loves to experiment with the food on continuous basis.

  • "very nice and unique taste food..."

The restaurent is located near Souq Waqif and is very good place in Doha to roam around and shopping. The restaurent is in a old revamped building with traditional indian interiors and atmosphere of the restaurent is very nice with separate rooms available for groups or family. This is a must visit restaurent for Indian food lovers. The receipies are unique from Sanjeev Kapoor and food is delicious..

  • "Doha's Finest indian food"

    5 Reviewed 2013-11-28 11:23:11 By joyviyer

I have been to pretty much all the restaurants in Doha and in my opinion this is the best restaurant when it comes to the quality of food. Yet ironically, I did not like it much the first time I visited the place. A lot depends on what you order here. The staff are quite helpful with he ordering process. They offer 4 varieties of chutney with the poppadums, some of which are quite unique and not available in other restaurants. They also serve a shot glass of yogurt flavoured with lemon zest which is excellent. Try the kulfi with falooda for dessert. Parking is ample at the restaurant as they have their own parking. I am also privy to some legend associated with the restaurant building. Apparently this is a refurbished home of one of the local Qatari families which was acquired by the government when Souk Waqif was being redeveloped. The inhabitants of the house used to believe that the grounds were haunted, with a few instances of strange sounds and inexplicable sightings. This was transmitted down to me by a work colleague from the same family. Having said that, I've been here umpteen times and have never sighted any apparitions ;) in any case it is very well lit. I would definitely recommend it to any person who likes Indian food. In my opinion no other local Indian restaurant comes close to Khazana.

  • "Expensive"

    3 Reviewed 2013-08-24 07:04:16 By waveszoom11

This restaurant is nicely decorated Indian food restaurant. But, as like all other Indian restaurants in Doha, this one also not having authentic Indian taste. Addition to that this one is having very very expensive food compared to quantity and kind of quality food they serve. Choice is yours, but advice you to avoid.

Good authentic Indian food. Don't miss out on their Malabar Prawn Curry. Creamy and perfect flavor. DO NOT try their rasmalai though! Major disappointment
