RCBReview on May 28, 20141Our second visit this month. Visited with my elderly parents and family. Restaurant situated above 2 flights of stairs. No Elevators. A drudgery for challenged people. Appetizers of Frontier Grill Mix was okay, while the Veg Kebabs platter was nothing much to write about. Main courses of Greens based Chicken Curry, Yellow Dal were bland and very ordinary. Daal Khichdee (Soft mushy rice with lentils) too was very bland. Lastly, during the checkout, the hostess asks whether we wish to include Tips, even though the Menu prices already includes a 10% Service Charge. Upon questioning the Hostess, she first feigns ignorance, and then mentions that the included Service Charge goes to management. Overall a very disappointing visit. Certainly no value for your money. Perhaps a lost and wasted Khazana. Never again. Reply

"Very Good Indian Food"Reviewed 2014-09-01 09:21:11 By harrisnew
Went with high expectations as the place bore the name of Sanjeev Kapoor. The whole experience fully lived up to the expectation. The food as excellent, the ambience has nice and cosy and the staff were very helpful and courteous. The food was authentic Indian, loved the kababs and the rotis. Highly Recommended.

The restaurant maintains the legacy of celebrity chef. The staff is mannered and courteous and service provided is excellent. The ambience is nice and relaxing. A must visit place for Indian food lovers whether you are Indian or otherwise.

"Great ambience, good food & a great place to entertain"Reviewed 2014-03-08 01:41:58 By Vikas S
Located in one of the refurbished old Qatari villa kind of a house, with a small outside sitting area both on porch and lawn, the place has been done up with some choice without being too overburdening and creates a nice relaxing ambience to enjoy the food and company that you may have. Menu offers traditional north Indian flavors intermixed with some regional cuisine as well. There are some healthy choices as well and quite a choice of fresh juices & mocktails. Food served is quite balanced without being over spiced bringing out the flavors well. Selection of breads is also quite varied and you may even ask them for something which is not on the menu. Most of the dishes are quite well prepared though may not be to die for! Worth a mention is the selection of chutneys/pickles they serve on the house along with many kind of papadams while you wait for the food. Otherwise good kebabs, curries and stir-fries. Service is top notch with most servers besides being attentive, are willing to engage with the patrons on the food as well as other matters of interest. Oh yes, I talked about entertaining too. The place has multiple private dining rooms (having been converted from a real house) done up in minimal but choiceful manner, giving one the privacy which you look for in a private party. The only complaint I have is that I would like to see more frequent change in menu given the fact that the place belongs to someone who is rated as one of leading chefs in India who loves to experiment with the food on continuous basis.
"very nice and unique taste food..."Reviewed 2013-12-31 05:31:29 By HiteshSavaliya
The restaurent is located near Souq Waqif and is very good place in Doha to roam around and shopping. The restaurent is in a old revamped building with traditional indian interiors and atmosphere of the restaurent is very nice with separate rooms available for groups or family. This is a must visit restaurent for Indian food lovers. The receipies are unique from Sanjeev Kapoor and food is delicious..

16 years on and even though you know Sanjeev Kapoor is just a name on the wall, its storied past continues with a new resurgence. A must visit for fine old school Indian dining.

Good authentic Indian food. Don't miss out on their Malabar Prawn Curry. Creamy and perfect flavor. DO NOT try their rasmalai though! Major disappointment
