  • "Yummy Indo-Chinese!"

If you have stayed in Mumbai, you probably would have paid a visit to Gypsy Chinese in Dadar. Their branch was opened in Dubai in 2011 end and they brought their team from Mumbai. So, there is no difference in taste, rather I liked Gypsy Chinese in Dubai better than its Mumbai counterpart. Shanghai fish, olive and egg rice are my all-time favourites. If you want to try out a new preparation, chef will be happy to take your request and serve it for you. I have organized some private parties also in Gypsy Chinese, and they have put together good combo options for us (including drinks). Recommended for fine dining; with family, friends, solo, couples or even a tasty business lunch!

  • "Totally unprofessional service and average food"

Even though we made the booking thru RoundMenu website and we told them about our booking on arrival, they did not give us the discount. We had to specifically ask for it when the bill was presented. Even then the discount was on the food amount only and not on water and soft drinks. Overall, service level and food quality is quite poor. Would not recommend to anyone!!!!

  • "Bad bad service!"

We heard a lot of the restaurant on radio.. and decided to indulge on some desi chinese! However, we were so disappointed that will probably never go back again: 1. The staff made us wait for over 15 minutes before providing the menu card and then another 20 minutes before provided pickled savories 2. Inspite of using hi-tech iPads, the waitress still managed to mix up the order 3. We were using The Entertainer coupons and the manager short-changed us by considering rice as main course! He acknowledged his mistake... but still refused to change the bill saying that he will remember to credit us during the next visit. JOKE! 4. Lastly, when my wife told the manager that our experience was bad and we would not come again, he just walked away rudely! Also, food is average!

  • "Food was very good....but I thought it was a bit pricey...."

The food was very good...However, I thought it was a bit expensive. I understand a customer is paying for the convenience of not having to leave the hotel to get a descent bite to eat, but I just felt that a bowl of soup costing nearly $15.00 was a bit ridiculous. I was very pleased with the service, the convenience of room service, and the taste of the food. Granted it was certainly delicious, but to me I just felt it was a bit too expensive.

  • "A Definite Win at IndoChinese"

    5 Reviewed 2013-07-17 16:28:11 By SueMiranda

I have always been a person who relishes good food over ambience and service, especially, when I go to restaurants. My visit to Gypsy Chinese delivered an over-all satisfaction of mouth-watering delicious IndoChinese food, a good ambience and a friendly service. The restaurant offers a vast variety of veg and non-veg dishes. The Steamed Wanton and Pepper Chilly Prawns are reasonably authentic. If you are confused of what to order, the staff is kind enough to guide you through the menu to choose the best that is there. The options for main course vary from Egg White & Olive Rice, Chilly Garlic Noodles, to a palatable 5 Spiced Chicken Pot Rice. At Gypsy, they definitely know the meaning of ''Save the best for the last'', so sweet tooth or not, one cannot just leave the place without having the Chocolate Mud Cake. And after eating all this, the bill doesn't drill a hole in your pockets. In one word, I can say that my overall experience at Gypsy Chinese was Delectable.
