"Best place for Chinese cuisine in Dubai"Reviewed 2014-08-05 22:45:54 By SachinSharjah
Very nice ambiance, good variety of food and great service. Gypsy Chinese is centrally located and one of the few restaurants in Dubai providing quality chinese dishes which though Indianised are not spicy or oily. It is must visit place in Dubai.
"Yummy Indo-Chinese!"Reviewed 2014-03-25 02:22:16 By Jaydeephingne
If you have stayed in Mumbai, you probably would have paid a visit to Gypsy Chinese in Dadar. Their branch was opened in Dubai in 2011 end and they brought their team from Mumbai. So, there is no difference in taste, rather I liked Gypsy Chinese in Dubai better than its Mumbai counterpart. Shanghai fish, olive and egg rice are my all-time favourites. If you want to try out a new preparation, chef will be happy to take your request and serve it for you. I have organized some private parties also in Gypsy Chinese, and they have put together good combo options for us (including drinks). Recommended for fine dining; with family, friends, solo, couples or even a tasty business lunch!
"Totally unprofessional service and average food"Reviewed 2013-12-04 09:34:56 By vv_dubai
Even though we made the booking thru RoundMenu website and we told them about our booking on arrival, they did not give us the discount. We had to specifically ask for it when the bill was presented. Even then the discount was on the food amount only and not on water and soft drinks. Overall, service level and food quality is quite poor. Would not recommend to anyone!!!!
"Bad bad service!"Reviewed 2013-09-30 15:19:25 By burtjee
We heard a lot of the restaurant on radio.. and decided to indulge on some desi chinese! However, we were so disappointed that will probably never go back again: 1. The staff made us wait for over 15 minutes before providing the menu card and then another 20 minutes before provided pickled savories 2. Inspite of using hi-tech iPads, the waitress still managed to mix up the order 3. We were using The Entertainer coupons and the manager short-changed us by considering rice as main course! He acknowledged his mistake... but still refused to change the bill saying that he will remember to credit us during the next visit. JOKE! 4. Lastly, when my wife told the manager that our experience was bad and we would not come again, he just walked away rudely! Also, food is average!
"Food was very good....but I thought it was a bit pricey...."Reviewed 2013-07-26 07:15:26 By Grace L
The food was very good...However, I thought it was a bit expensive. I understand a customer is paying for the convenience of not having to leave the hotel to get a descent bite to eat, but I just felt that a bowl of soup costing nearly $15.00 was a bit ridiculous. I was very pleased with the service, the convenience of room service, and the taste of the food. Granted it was certainly delicious, but to me I just felt it was a bit too expensive.
