  • "Bubbalicious meaning a lot of party and alcohol"

    3 Reviewed 2014-04-20 11:06:10 By Elina S

If you are visiting Bubbalicous with a large groups of friends, wanting to party and get drunk - then this is the place to be. The alcohol is flowing and everyone is in a party mood, getting more rowdy by the minute. The food selection is good - lobster, oysters, Thai, cheeses and a huge selection of desserts, however it didn't feel super fresh. There are just too many people, long lines and food looking sloppy. It was also a bit annoying that with some things, like the lobster, you weren't allowed to take the food yourself but had to stand in line for a long time to only get a limited amount. For a couple looking for a good food experience, this is not the place. For a British expat wanting to do shots from an ice sculpture with your other British friends, this is probably heaven.

Don't waste your money if was awful. Even spoke to the restaurant supervisor and voiced our concerns over cleanliness and standard of the food as had been previously and was not disappointed. His reply was " oh yes there are lots of hotel guests using the restaurant now',which I understand as meaning guests have half board included and there is no longer a high standard in this restaurant. Really disappointed, will not return.

  • "Above average for a buffet"

This review is about the breakfast, lunch and dinner at Blue Orange, not the Friday brunch which is a totally different affair. We had 8 days at the Westin on half board so ate breakfast there every day, dinner half the nights and lunch a couple of times. Breakfast is very good. A decent selection of freshly cooked eggs, pancakes, waffles etc, nice pastries, smoothies and juices, some Middle Eastern dishes and other goodies. Lunch worked well for a light salad. Dinner was mostly great. The lobster BBQ evening is excellent; all you can eat freshly grilled lobster, large prawns, whole fish etc is a real treat compared to what you might get in a UK restaurant. Dinner on other evenings was good but Monday - Wednesday seemed to lack creativity in terms of the selection. It was a bit repetitive and a few more interesting fresh dishes would be welcome. More of the sushi and fresh fish would be good to see. Desserts are the same every night and all seem to revolve around some kind of mousse in different flavours and formats, again new ideas required. Overall it was good enough and certainly better than a lot of hotels who do a buffet every day.

  • "Simply amazing"

You do not know true brunch experience until you've tried this Friday brunch known as Bubblicious. It's one of the highest priced brunch in Dubai but once you see what's on the menu you'll know why. You have 2 packages (with or without Moet bubbly). Both are pretty awesome. They don't shy away on the booze!!! The quality and variety of food is well above the norm. There are many Friday brunches in Dubai and I mean many. Everyone is raking in their share of this new trend of all-you-can-eat-and-drink deal. But, many fall short on their promise to deliver the experience and true value for money. From steaks, crabs, lobsters, roasted duck, thai satay, sushi to the biggest cheese table I have ever seen. They have a selection of alcohol induced cakes in the centre of the room which are a must try. Nothing ever tasted so good. There is a sense of sophistication in the way everything is presented. I mean, they serve frozen Vodka in a spoon prepared in liquid nitrogen-the only way you can freeze Vodka!! More than one cocktail station ensures you have plenty of options to remain in a great mood throughout the 3 hours of indulgence. It may sound like a short time but it is more than enough to fill your belly senseless and get really smashed. To put that into perspective, there has been few ocassions where I've seen people break their high heels trying to stay upright as they queue for a taxi at 4PM. If I have to critisize then it will be towards the waiting staff. Not always attentive and looked very rush. Maybe cause the place is so popular, gets really busy and attracts the most demanding crowd. I took some friends that have travelled the world and eaten in top restaurants...they were impressed!! Well done Westin Mina Seyahi Dubai. We will be back!!

The lobster is to die for. A great place to sit out and take in the balmy evenings and enjoy a meal.
