Armani/Amal is not only unlike anything in the designer hotel, it's also unlike anything in Dubai. Diners will be asked by one of the Armani chaperones if you'd like to sit for a couple of minutes in the pre-dinner lounge and listen to some live sitar music.
It is perhaps the best presentation of live music we've ever seen in an Indian restaurant. Moving onto the food, mains like sea bass moilee is perfectly cooked and well spiced (but there was far too little of the gravy for our liking).

"Really ordinary food, lackluster service, nice fixtures"Reviewed 2014-08-21 09:06:03 By DS8888
The food is passable...a vada masquerading as an appetizer, boring Indian food, very ordinary service - stiff, bored looking service people. Being in the Burj, the drive in, entrance, fixtures etc were spiffy. Just off the dining area is a nice patio/balcony from which you get some nice views. On the way out, encountered a talented artist playing Indian classical music.. Overall, stay away if you know high end Indian food...And if you don't care about name dropping...Dubai has far better food to offer in some nice environments....
"Could have rated Excellent; but slip-ups prevented"Reviewed 2014-08-19 04:56:39 By Flatts
Had dinner at Armani Amal last night, celebrating my wife's birthday. The tasting menu was exceptionally good and we spent 3 hours leisurely working our way through; and service was just about right. Based on views, service and quality of food I would have given Amal 5*, however lack of attention to detail, turned what could have been a memorable evening to simply a nice one: - I mentioned at the time of reserving a table, that it was my wife's birthday and when confriming back to me, the lady acknowledged we were celebrating a birthday; then absolutely nothing last night to indicate we were celebrating an occassion - the E mail confirmation from the restaurant laid down a strict dress code, with no tee-shirts, sports shoes or shorts, and yet an Asian family dining there were wearing all 3; so either there's a dress code or there isn't, there's no half-way house - at the time of booking, I requested a table by the window; this was acknowldged. At the time of calling me back to reconfirm, it transpires that window reservations cannot be confirmed and its first come, first served. We had to bring forward our reservation to get a window table, and once we arrived, proceeded to sit at the bar until our previous slot - again, no consistent rules In summary, if we had not been celebrating a special occassion, I could have overlooked the other niggly aspects, but as a restaurant consistently top rated on TA in Dubai where competition is fierce and in abundance; an 'excellent' rating has got to go to establishments who get it all right; and most of the time, and not on quality of food and a view of the Dubai fountains
"Good"Reviewed 2014-08-16 16:44:07 By Jazznmes
Tasting menu had some superb moments but it did feel a bit 'samey' by course three. The service was quite slow although the ambience and decor more than made up for it. A lovely touch was the tabla & sitar music playing as we arrived and definitely when we left!
"Worth the price"Reviewed 2014-08-13 14:21:00 By Maheson S
Indian Cuisine redefined! Service from start to finish was faultless, cocktail were of a high standard and good use of flavours on classic styles! Food fresh well plate and good balance on spices.

Talk about a splendid interior mixed with elegance and tasteful design. The ambience is cool and quite upscale for 'mall' restaurant. Sheer delight for coffee lovers like myself

The food is delicious, pick anything from the menu. But GulabJamuns are a must. Try getting a fountain-view table for a memorable experience.
